Company Overview -

The Future of FreshnessTM

Global Fresh Foods provides breakthrough, shelf-life extending, all-natural controlled atmosphere (CA) distribution packaging technology and value-added ocean logistics services that will revolutionize fresh food supply chains worldwide.  Each one of these packages holds 1 metric ton of fresh Atlantic salmon and steelhead trout fillets.  Eighteen (18) 1,000 Kg "packages" are shipped in a 40 foot ocean container to any global destination withiin a 30 day ocean transit. GFF is currently offering Fresh Seafood - Global Ocean Freight Logistics services in Talcahuano, Chile.

The Company's SAF-D® (Safe And Fresh Distribution) System architecture and oxygen management technology create and maintain an all-natural Controlled Atmosphere (CA) environment that extends the high-quality fresh shelf life of perishable proteins for more than 30 days.  This breakthrough System allows for inventorying of fresh food products, distribution by ocean rather than air freight and more economical supply chains compared to traditional MAP technologies.  Following release from the SAF-D® System environment, our customers enjoy maximum, all-natural shelf life of proteins delivered to destination markets.

Vision/Mission

Global Fresh Foods envisions a sustainable, global community that thrives on delicious, all-natural fresh food products that are healthy for people and the planet.

The Company will deliver superior quality fresh food products to our business partners and their customers by significantly extending fresh shelf life in uncompromisingly safe and all-natural controlled atmosphere environments and leading the global fresh foods market with sustainable supply chain solutions.

Technology

Global Fresh Foods' patented SAF-D® System maintains a very high CO2 and extremely low oxygen controlled atmosphere, leveraging fuel cell technology to convert residual oxygen to water vapor.  This creates an environment perfectly suited for the natural preservation of fresh proteins and significantly extends fresh food shelf life.

The Company's first commercial application of the SAF-D® System is an industrial scale, controlled atmosphere service module (SM) for the distribution and inventorying of fresh foods.  The SM is comprised of a flexible, air-tight enclosure that can contain over one ton of high density fresh food product.  The fresh product is packaged in recyclable corrugated cartons that allow oxygen to permeate out and CO2 in at relatively rapid rates.  The SM is set up on a standard 40" by 48" pallet with a proprietary and reusable Blue Box placed and secured on top of the pallet, inside the enclosure.

The Blue Box serves as the controlled atmosphere operating system and employs a proprietary architecture, software, and fuel cell.  Once sealed, CO2 is injected into the SM and during transit any remaining oxygen is converted into water.  The result is a high humidity, oxygen-free environment that is ideal for the shipment and storage of most fresh protein foods.  The Blue Box also continuously controls oxygen, logs temperatures, and wirelessly communicates all critical operating parameters to computers within a 50' radius.  In addition, each Blue Box is programmed to flash a visible LED should abnormal environment or temperature conditions occur.

The SAF-D® System can include up to 18 SMs per 40' refrigerated ocean container.  Upon opening the SM, the Blue Box is recovered and returned to the production source for reuse.  The SAF-D® System SM delivers superior natural shelf life extensions for more than 30 days for most fresh proteins, including seafood, red meats, poultry, bakery, and other oxidatively labile perishables.

Perishables can be inventoried and/or transported within the SAF-D® System's SMs, and once removed from the System's ideal environment, customers will enjoy greater, all-natural fresh shelf life than ever before.  These benefits create substantial added value in destination markets.
