- For "Fresh" food producers, Controlled and Modified Atmosphere (CA/MA) & Vacuum (VAC) are essentially the only preservative free “Fresh Food” shelf life extending technology options available under U.S. FDA regulations.
- Unlike the SAF-D® CA System, Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) and Vacuum Packaging (VAC) technologies are not capable or designed to extend shelf life after release of the atmosphere.

•CAP/MAP/VAC are the only “Fresh Food” shelf life extending technology options from a federal regulatory standpoint.
•Therefore, technological obsolescence is not an issue for Global Fresh Foods.
